Offices evolve, teams shift, and the way we work keeps changing faster than anyone can keep up with. These modular desk systems adapt right along with you, reconfiguring from individual workstations to conference tables to collaborative clusters without requiring a facilities management degree or a small army of movers.

The trapezoidal shape might look unconventional at first glance, but it's pure geometric genius. Each piece locks together with others to create hexagonal meeting spaces, long serpentine arrangements, or traditional rectangular configurations. Think of it as furniture Tetris, except every combination actually works and looks intentional.

Ray and Charles Eames understood that great design shouldn't require a trust fund. They revolutionized furniture by using innovative materials and production methods to bring beautiful, functional pieces to everyone, not just the design elite. Their quiet rebellion against exclusivity changed how we think about quality and accessibility in modern living.

The Modular Industrial-Modern design features clean, angular metalwork with exposed black powder-coated steel tube bases that celebrate the construction rather than hiding it. Minimalist joinery keeps the focus on the materials and the geometric forms they create together.

These modular office desks work especially well in spaces that need to shift between focused work and collaborative sessions. Morning standup meetings, afternoon brainstorming sessions, evening presentations. The same furniture handles all of it with equal grace.

Each solid lumber top emerges from trees that fell naturally around Los Angeles, rescued from becoming landfill waste and transformed into workspace that adapts to however your team actually functions. The natural hard-wax oil finish highlights the wood grain while protecting against the inevitable coffee spills and creative chaos.

The modular workstations can stand alone as individual pieces or connect into larger configurations that feel deliberately designed rather than hastily assembled. The geometric precision ensures everything aligns perfectly, whether you're building a workspace for two people or twenty.

Our Los Angeles workshop treats each component as part of a larger system, selecting lumber that works harmoniously across multiple pieces while maintaining the structural integrity needed for constant reconfiguration. The steel bases are engineered to handle the stress of frequent repositioning without developing wobbles or joint fatigue.

This isn't furniture that demands you adapt to its limitations. It's designed to support whatever work style emerges next, because the only constant in modern work is change itself.

Good design should evolve with the people who use it.

our urban hardwoods
sycamore, elm & ash

These sustainable planks come from non-farmed trees that recently fell in our metropolitan environment. Local urban-lumber milling companies such as Angel City Lumber and Street Tree Revival will retrieve them and turn them into beautiful dimensional lumber, rather than allowing them to be sent to landfills. We've fostered excellent relationships with these organizations (noble, good-looking heroes whom we love dearly), so they'll call us when the newest batches are about to be dried and milled.

Our Reclaimed Wood
Old-growth Doug fir

We respect the use of all reclaimed wood, but at Parkman we only use salvaged lumber from Los Angeles County structures that were built about 100 years ago or more. This old-growth wood is derived from ancient trees that, thankfully, are no longer being deforested. We prefer this sustainable lumber due to its natural durability and beauty. Conversely, most furniture wood these days comes from farms that cut their crop young, leaving the lumber comparatively soft and bland. These farms also use massive amounts of energy and water, unnecessarily damaging the global environment.

& fair wages

We perform all of our woodwork and metalwork in our Los Angeles workshop so that we can personally oversee every aspect of your build. Most shops you'll come across simply design and market products, but don't actually build any furniture, preferring to outsource the physical work to cheaper white-label shops. We lean into the entire process, from inception to inspection, and pay fair wages with benefits to our expert craftspeople.
