Somewhere between the dining table and the kitchen island lives the most social piece of furniture in the house. Counter-height tables put people at standing eye level, which is why the party always ends up around them. We handcraft counter-height and bar tables in our Los Angeles workshop from solid hardwood, milled, built and finished in-house, in sizes that stock furniture simply does not come in.

Quick vocabulary, since the terms get mixed up constantly. Standard dining tables sit around 30 inches tall. Counter height runs about 36 inches, matching your kitchen counters and pairing with 24 inch stools. Bar height runs 40 to 42 inches with 30 inch stools. We build all three, and because every table is made to order, we can split the difference for an odd space or an heirloom stool set you refuse to give up.

This collection includes chopping-block kitchen workhorses, slim breakfast perches, waterfall builds that double as standing desks, and bar table and stool sets ready for a tasting room or a family kitchen. Restaurants and offices commission these constantly, and our in-house metal shop fabricates footrests, frames and bases to commercial standards.

Choose black walnut, white oak, or naturally fallen Southern California elm, ash and sycamore, all finished by hand with hard-wax oil that stands up to daily counters-and-cocktails duty.
